Well, this is going to be interesting. Apparently flights are being cancelled left right and center because of SNOW on the East Coast. So far, my flights from Europe are Ok. But My Boston to DC flight no longer exists.... not according to the Iberia website. but there is a note on my ticket thing that says Operated By Another Airline. It does not say which one. So... I do not know if my plane is cancelled or not. I guess I will find out once I get to Boston. I just hope that I do not get stuck in Spain, by myself, where I do not speak the language....
Cross your fingers for me!

Mini Photo shoot thing.
Today we took a group photo in the Jardin des Doms by the Palais des Papes. After the group photo Alex the amatrure Photographer offered to do portraits for the very affordable price of chocolate. He was joking, but I bought him some anyway. I do not have the group photo, but I plan on getting it. Meanwhile, here is the best photo of me. Actually, there are several, but the first is my favorite.
I really love the background!
He then said: Look pensive. I tried. Really, I did. I couldn't help laughing:

Finally, though. We got a decent photo of me looking Pensive:
Finally, Laura jumped into a photo with me:

Laugh laugh laugh:

Happy Halloween!!!!! It was a week ago, but here are the pictures:
My halloween costume. Venician mask!
I really like Chelsea's mask. Rainbow.
My "Jack-O-Lantern"
The other side.
The trolly. Just like Hogwarts Express!!! 'servizi minibarre'!
The Masked Ones
Halloween hair braiding. I braided all four girls' hair!
Five happy girls on the train.

Venice: Day Two Murano PHOTOS
This is the day we spent on the bus forever. Our last day. See the next post to hear the tales of Bus Horror and Glorious glass and More Bus Horror.
Glass factory.
Oven
pretty glas bottle in my favorite colors.
Figured some of you would find this humorus, so I took the picture just for you. You know who you are!
We had just finished taking pictures of this when the Brazilian interviewed us.

Mosaic of the Lion of Saint Mark
Back on venice. Dresses in the window. Or rather, they LOOK like dresses. They're not; they are just bolts of cloth wrapped around maniquins.
Venice: Day One PHOTOS
Florence Day Three is night one in Venice. Well, we got to the train station in Venice. And we had to call the hotel and have them send us a shuttle for 16 euro. The driver knocked off a euro so that we wouldn't have to pay odd amounts, so in the end we only had to pay 15 euro. We went straight to bed. The next day!!!!!! Day One in Venice.
Once we got to Venice the main island, we bought bus/boat passes fro 36 hours for only 23 Euro. The first thing on the list: Find breakfast. Here is what we passed on the way:

A pink building.
The front of the pink building.
Closeup of the door.
My first sighting of The Lion of Saint Mark. I was super excited to see this because in August I rad a Mercedes Lackey Book called The Shadow of the Lion which takes place in Venice in the mid 1500s.
A red building.
You know you're in Venice when there are masks EVERYWHERE. And Milano Glass.
More Masks. They get really fancy. Even more fancy than what is pictured here!
Masks galore! Contest photo ??
Yup, we're in Italy, guys; There's pasta. Including penis pasta. And chocolate pasta (I'd like to try some of that someime!)
People advritizing for an opera.
Another domed building.
Then we dicided to go to the Piazza San Marco. So we took a 40 minute boat ride:
Boat driver. Skipper!
All the taxis here are boats. So are the ambulances and UPS type vehicles.
Out the front of our boat. Its like a metro, only on the water.
Windblown model. ;P
COLD!
View of the shore. Houses are almost always on the water here. It's hard to get one OFF the water! I wonder if they're the ones that are the more expensive, in venice (opposite from the USA where the rich people have water in their back yards...)
Cool old building.

Post boat!
Our destination. That dome is the basilica, the building in the front and center with the arches is the doge's palace.
Back on shore. Statue. Lion of saint mark on the bottom.
And the other side.
Gondolas! We wanted to take one, but it would have been 80 euro. We got them to knock it down to 60 but that was still too expensive. They wouldn't go down to 50 (ten euro each); if they had, we would have done it.
We went the wrong direction and ended up at the Naval Museum before we turned around.
But first, a break by the water.
The doge's palace. Where we wanted to be.

The lamps all have pink glass. Contest picture?

The palace is connected to the basilica.

Me in front of the Basilica.

Hello Beautiful!
Another Cool 24 hour clock.

The rest of the Piazza
Chelsea feeding the pidgeons.
Jenny and I feeding the pidgeons. And they jumped up onto our hands. :D
And now: To the chocolate shop! On the way we saw:
Pinnochio marionettes.
I want rain boots like this! I would wear them all the time! Rain or shine!
Cool iron thing on the wall.
Laundry and a canal.
We got lost and found this empty square. So we decided to dance. Making the most of being lost is easier with friends.
We found it!
We found a university during our wanderings.
A murono glass chandelier
Get your picture taken in period costume! Too bad they were closed.
Same shop, next window over.
And then we found the museum of Da Vinci's inventions.
Flying machine
horse head lute
Machine gun
One of the two The Last Supper paintinges that were hung in the museum. There was also Mona Lisa. They're copies. Acutally, they didn't say, but it seems like a very good guess.

Contest picture. Doesn't it look like a painting? Beautiful.
So now we are starving, so we made our way to the suggested pizza place. It was very cheap and very good.
Menu. Look at all that variety of pizza. I thin there are thirty one different flavors. We bought two of the gargantuan family sized pizzas. The waitress and the cook gave us wierd looks, but complied with our order.
One ham, one cheese.
Exactly ten minutes later.
