Excursion to Arles MANY pictures!!!

Today, while feeling crappy with a cold, we went on an excursion to Arles. It was a beautiful place and worth seeing...but not when you're sick. However, it was mandatory for my class and I'd have been disappointed to miss it. It took over 100 pictures, but I'm only going to put up my favorites and the ones with me in them because there are so many.

Outside of the Amphetheatre

Me in the Amphetheatre!

The Amphetheatre arena

A house just outside the Amphetheatre (I'm inside taking a picture from within).

Tour-Guide Pied Piper (This tour guide played a flute so his group could find and follow him to all the different monuments, etc.)

The Theatre

Columns behind the stage of the Theatre--all that is left of the wall that used to be there.

Me betwixt the columns

Remains of a colomn at the Theatre

Door of the Church of St. Trophime

Stained-glass window inside the church

The reliquaries in the church. Dead-people parts for the win! Hurray! ;P

Artists like to put their expositions in the churches/chapels/monasteries here. this is made out of a bunch of ties I hope none of the guys I know would never wear. However, they're beautiful this way.

Me. In the monastery.

On the roof.

Looking down at the courtyard from the roof.

Exposition in a chapel. (A different one from the monastary. This one has paintings for all the senses. There were poems [in French] to go with, but I'm not posting them on here.)

La Peau (The Skin).

Le Toucher (Touch).

L'Oderat (Smell)

L'ouil (Sound)

A building.

Colorful Ceramic Chickens in the window of a shop.

Obelisk fountain

Close up of the obelisk's base.

Me at the Fountain

I liked how the colomns on this were twisted. So we stopped to take a picture. I have no idea what building this is--its surrounded by shops.

Cait Van Goh!

Pretty garden on Van Goh's trail. He painted this garden.

Another view of part of the pretty garden.

Fin.
