Alrighty folks, here is Day two of Rome. On this day we went to the Colloseum, the tomb of the unknown soldier, general wandering around, a fountain, and I think that's it. One thing I forgot to say in my last post (which i'm saying here because Rome Day One was already so long!): on the way from the metro stop near the Vatican and the Vatican itself we wer harrassed by tour guides. You couldn't go ten steps without one coming up and flashing a plan in your face "Are you going to the Vatican" "If you pay me 40 euros each you won't have to stand in the 2 hour long lines" "Get an English tour of the Vatican Museum." So we started speaking in French and, miraculously, the tourguides stopped approaching us. It was nice. And when we got to the Vatican we were in line less than ten minutes and only had to pay 8 euro to get in. So word of advice for anyone who goes to Rome: Don't be tempted because it is a scam!
So here we go:

What would the Colloseum be without gladiators?

In which Cleopatra Dies. I should have been an actress ;P

The Arc de triophe. One of them anyway.

Me 'n' the Arc.

The walkway. Hurray for cobble stones!

I do not know her at all, but she looked like a good picture waiting under the arch with her sunflower. And I was right.

One of the many beggars in Europe.

Collumns.

Grapes! Just lying around!

Here is a church. Saint Mary's maybe??? I don't remember.

Here's the inside. I know it's dim and hard to see. Sorry about that.

The organ. At least, the pipes of the organ--they're on the wall. I'm standing next to the key board part.

Part of the floor of a church. It's someone's tomb; Looks like a pope. There was no sign though. Not that I remember seeing anyhow.

There was some kind of festavle. Like the water front: games, bands, dancing rollerskaters, etc. An entire street full of them. So we went through it.

Human statue. He (or she) is cheating because he's wearing a mask and is covered in a cloth so he can sneak little movements. Still cool; though.

More ruins and another dome. In the same photo! I like this one. I might enter it into the Study Abroad photo contest along with the many people moving outside the Palais des papes (which I took over a month ago).

A professional biker in the festavle street.

Fresh fruit. I really like this picture, too.

Here are the roller skate dancers. I have video of them, too, but I can't put that up here.

I am Caesar!

Statues. When I took this, I didn't know what I was looking at. It's outside the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

And again.

And again.

And again. The eternal flame. I was afraid the fire wouldn't show up in the picture and I am super pleased that it does!

Italian Military bus

After all that walking and all the steps from the Tomb, we had to combat the Healthyness. So we got Gelati! Yummy!

It's everywhere! There is no escaping! Nowhere is too far for it's evil reach!

Street painter. He was very cool to watch.

A building. Much cooler than 'a building' in America.

Made of flower petals.

Another street preformer

Self explainitory. Gelateria. mmmmmmm.

Chestnuts! Roasting! On an open...grill.

I thought the name of this store was funny. Sadly, no kilts were to be found inside.

Really cool pillar with the story of Titus???'s conquering carved in starting at the bottom and working its way up. The entire story is depicted!

Close up. WAY COOL!

Another word of advice: if someone just walks up to you and hands you a flower, don't take it unless you want to pay for it. (And here we thought the man was just being nice. Nope!) It is pretty though.

We got all dolled up for Dinner. I even let them do my makeup. Too much blush if you ask me.

Pizza in Rome§ mmmmm!

Chocolate pie!

Trevy Fountain (spelling?) After supper we decided to visit the fountain and other places and take pictures.

A stop sign in Rome. "Wait a second...That's in English!"

Wild Things loose at the Colloseum at night
