Excursion with IAU to Saintes Maries a la mer

Today (Saturday the 19th) we went to Saintes Maries a la Mer, a village on the Mediterranean Sea. I took pictures!!!! (of course). Most of them are of the church and me being silly in the sea.

Alex and Brian. On the bus at 8:30 a.m.

Laura and Chelsea

Jen and I. Don't I look so awake? haha.

Sign for the boring museum we went to.

Very old armoir that was the only thing of intrest in said museum.

Plack showing the date (1830) of the armoir. It's for a marriage.

See those dots on the water? Those are flamingos. Yup, you read that correctly. Flamingos. In France. How cool is that???!

The bells on the roof of Sts. Maries a la mer.

Close up of the bells

Most of the IAU students (18 out of 27--several people didn't go)

View of the people taking pictures of us IAU students.

Me on the Roof of Sts. Maries.

View of Sts. Maries from the roof of the Church of Sts. Maries.

Another view of the village.
Plack outside the church explaining that the church was made for Marie Sarah, Virgin Mary, and Mary of Magdalene when they (reputedly) sailed to France to escape. Saintes Maries a la Mer is where they landed.

The dimly lit interior of the church.

The Mediterranean Sea

Charles Eating Ice cream. (Dangerous Swimming! Not surveyed!)

Me and some of my friends (Charles, Jenny, Kate, Laura, and Chelsea) Meditating by the sea

Me rolling up my pant legs so they won't get wet from the waves. (There were people actually surfing! And swimming. But the water was too cold for me!)
The water is Cold!!!

Me being silly in the sea

I'm still silly.

And again. Me being silly in the sea. Fun fun.

Dragon I drew in the sand.
